The problem with happiness is that we link it to something. The challenge is not to get attached to the things around us like our car, home, career, savings, and so on. When that something is gone, then we are unhappy. So don’t anchor your happiness to external material things. Then you will find the true meaning of joy.

One thing that separates us from animals is that we can decide how we react. You will get bitten if you step on a sleeping dog’s tail. When someone tries to get you upset, you have the choice to get upset or stay calm. Get better at choosing what emotion to bring out. Your life will be more peaceful. How about you? Does your emotion rule over your life?

Living a life of integrity and honor is not easy. You look around and might see fraudulent people getting ahead of you. But, just because some people take the wrong path does not mean we should. Keep on the right track, and you will live a peaceful life. How about you? Will you stay on the right track?

Let me share something about parenting. It is our responsibility to help our children to turn out to be great adults. That’s not the school’s responsibility. That’s not your pastor’s responsibility. That’s not your parent’s responsibility. That’s not anyone’s responsibility but yours, as a parent. How about you? Who do you think is responsible?

Funny how people use social media messengers to hard sell people. I get dozens of connection requests every month. After a day or two of accepting, something funny happens. My new connection’s first message is a sales pitch. Guys! That does not work. Nobody wants a sales pitch from a total stranger. It all starts with building a relationship. How about you? Have you ever wondered why lessons wrapped in stories are easier to remember? Even as a child, lessons are wrapped in fairy tales. Our brains are wired to recall stories. Long ago, this was our way of passing historical information. They were passed on as stories from generation to generation. How about you? Do you wrap your lessons in stories?

We all have choices. However, not all of us make the best choices. It’s easier to get sucked into criticizing others. It’s harder to just focus on improving ourselves. Which of the two is the best use of your time? Do you spend more time criticizing others or improving yourself?

Check out the people around you. When something goes wrong, do they raise their hand and take accountability? Most will try to pin it to someone else. You cannot succeed in life unless you take full accountability for your actions and decisions. How about you? Do you point fingers or do you take accountability for your actions?
