A seminar can inspire managers. Only daily practice changes leadership habits.

Have you ever wondered why lessons wrapped in stories are easier to remember? Even as a child, lessons are wrapped in fairy tales. Our brains are wired to recall stories. Long ago, this was our way of passing historical information. They were passed on as stories from generation to generation. How about you? Do you wrap your lessons in stories?

We all have choices. However, not all of us make the best choices. It’s easier to get sucked into criticizing others. It’s harder to just focus on improving ourselves. Which of the two is the best use of your time? Do you spend more time criticizing others or improving yourself?

Check out the people around you. When something goes wrong, do they raise their hand and take accountability? Most will try to pin it to someone else. The first touchpoint of your customers are your employees. The way your employees feel can be seen and felt by your customers. Care for your employees first. They will, in turn, genuinely care about your customers. How about you? Do you love the company you work for?

As we grow older and meet up with old friends, we often talk about the glory days of the past. Some of us are stuck in the past. We cannot move forward with our eyes looking backward. How about you? Do you spend too much time looking backwards?

Challenges will always be a part of our life. They come and they go. Often, opportunities comes disguised as a challenge. If you have a growth mindset, you will see the opportunity. If you have a fixed mindset, you will only see the challenge. How about you? Can you find opportunities hidden inside difficult times?

Being smart does not guaranty success. You can be the smartest person in the room and be the least successful. The power of knowledge comes from application. How about you? Do you apply what you learn?

We all have negative people around us. Unfortunately, some of them are related to us. Just understand that negative people are unhappy.
Negative people want others to join them. My suggestion, have minimal exposure to negative people. Don’t expose yourself long enough that they drain your energy and optimism.
How about you? Do you keep your distance from pessimists?
